Introduction
The VTCT Level 3 Certificate in Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology for Complementary Therapies is a knowledge-based qualification which will provide you with a sound foundation to pursue a career as a complementary therapist.
This qualification will develop your knowledge and understanding of the organisation of the body, and the structure, function and pathologies of the skin, hair and nails.
You will also learn about the structure, function and pathologies of the human body systems including, the skeletal, muscular, nervous, endocrine, respiratory, cardiovascular, digestive, urinary and reproductive system.
National Occupational Standards (NOS)
This qualification has been mapped to the relevant NOS and is regulated on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF). This qualification is approved and supported by Skills for Health, the sector skills council for health.
Assessment
Throughout this qualification you will produce a portfolio of evidence. This will confirm the knowledge, understanding and skills that you have learnt. Your work will be assessed, and quality assured by centre staff. An external quality assurer, appointed by VTCT, will visit our centre to sample and quality-check assessments, the internal quality assurance process and the evidence gathered.
Assignments
You will complete a minimum of three pathologies (conditions) for each body of the 12 body systems which must be evidenced in your portfolio.
Exams
You will complete two online exams by attending the centre at a convenient date.
Course delivery
The course will be delivered online over 12 weeks to enable you to study in your own time at your own pace.
